Fabricut Inc., the parent company of fabric brands Fabricut, S. Harris, Vervain, Trend and Fabricut Contract, has acquired Stroheim from JAB Anstoetz of Germany. The move adds a sixth brand under the Fabricut umbrella, expands Fabricut's reach into the high-end textile, trimmings and wallpaper market, and continues Stroheim's 145-year legacy in the home furnishings industry.

"We have been looking to increase our profile in the high-end market," says David Finer, chief executive officer of Fabricut. “At the same time JAB wanted to focus on its home-based European brands. Our acquisition of Stroheim accomplishes both of our mutual objectives.”

As of May 17, 2010, Fabricut will assume operations of Stroheim. The Stroheim warehouse and customer service center will move from High Point, N.C., to Fabricut’s facility in Tulsa, Okla. Stroheim’s fabrics, trimmings and wallpapers will be integrated into Fabricut showrooms across the country and on the road through its outside sale force. Stroheim’s decorative hardware will continue to be serviced by JAB.

“This strategic alliance with Fabricut will increase the footprint of our brands in North America,” says Chris-Jacob Schminnes, president of JAB Group. “We are thrilled to partner with Fabricut to accomplish our respective endeavors. Each brand has its specialties, together and individually; our family of brands provides designers with products of quality, style and price for every taste.”

Fabricut, S. Harris, Vervain, Trend and Stroheim are available to the trade only through interior designers and showrooms worldwide.
