A new line of furniture by Cynthia Rowley for Hooker Furniture will debut this month at Walter E. Smithe’s 11 Chicago-area showrooms in an exclusive retail partnership for the region. The furniture will also be available at Smithe.com. The collection encompasses three moods: Sporty: Life in the Fast Lane, with bold stripes and exotic woods; Pretty: A Charmed Life, with mother-of-pearl inlays and a soft color palette; and Curious: An Invitation to the Imagination, with travel-inspired pieces.
“Interiors and furniture have been a passion of mine ever since I can remember,” says Cynthia Rowley. “Fashion and style reach beyond clothes. It’s the art of living. I want to create furniture that will brighten your space and make your home a happy place! Beautiful fabrics and interesting materials combine in furniture classics with a twist.”
Rowley is a Barrington, Illinois, native who attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, intending to become a painter. “We are honored to welcome Cynthia back home to Chicago, and proud to feature her unparalleled point of view,” says Walter E. Smithe, president of the home furnishings and design company. “We will feature her collection of her inspired furnishings—living, dining, bed, office, accessories and more.”
