The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) welcomed its 11-member National Board of Directors into office on Oct. 1. The 2013 board includes design leaders from many different backgrounds including architecture and education.
“ASID is committed to advancing the profession through collaboration, research and initiatives that expand business opportunities for members in a global marketplace,” said ASID Board of Directors President, Barbara Marini, FASID, IDEC.

The board is made up of three officers: the past president, president, and president-elect, six directors at large, one industry partner representative and one chapter support team representative.
“Communicating the impact of interior design on the human experience is a key message and focus for the board as we move forward,” said Marini. “Expanding our knowledge of the built environment and developing strategies to share critical information will position the Society as a leader in the interior design profession. I am excited about our opportunities and the future of ASID.”
The newly appointed board members include:
President-elect: Rachelle Schoessler Lynn, FASID, CID, LEED AP BD+C
Past-President: Lisa Henry, FASID, LEED AP
Directors at Large: Vincent G. Carter, FASID, Matthew DeGeeter, ASID, LEED AP ID+C, Steffany Hollingsworth, ASID, NMLID, Barbara J. Huelat, FASID, EDAC, AAHID, Sonya B. Odell, FASID and Laura McDonald Stewart, ASID, LEED AP.
Industry Partner Representative: Jen Bruno, National Training Manager for Hansgrohe and ASID industry partner.
Chapter Supportive Representative: Joan Kaufman, ASID, LEED AP
Completing their terms on the 2012 board of directors are: Sybil Jane Barrido, ASID, CID; Sonya Dufner, FASID; Sandy Gordon, FASID, LEED AP; Emily Walser, ASID; and past-president Michael Thomas, FASID, CAPS.
