Members of the American Society of Interior Designers will soon be awarded by the organization’s National Honors program for their volunteer work. Recognizing over a dozen individuals and one chapter, the program will unfold at The Leadership Experience event in San Diego in mid-July.
ASID Medalists, which awards members who have reached two of three criteria (“outstanding service to an individual’s chapter or to ASID; significant contributions to the interior design profession; and/or significant contributions that enrich the human experience”) include: Crystal L. Reeves (Texas Gulf Coast chapter), John P. Cialone (Illinois), Jon W. Blunt (Ohio South / Kentucky), Dwane G. Adle (Michigan), and Barbara L. Cash (Alaska).
“Each year, countless volunteers contribute to the success of the Society’s chapters and mission,” says Randy Fiser, ASID CEO. “This year, we are recognizing 15 individuals and one chapter who have made exemplary impacts on their chapters and communities.”
David Minacci and Ron Book (both of the Florida South ASID chapter) will be honored with the Honorary Medalist award, while Emilio Sadez (Florida South) of International Design Source and Elizabeth Young (Georgia) of Steelcase will receive the Industry Partner Award.
The Arizona South ASID chapter will receive the Chapter Community Service Award for its work on the Aviva Children’s Services project. Additionally, a Lifetime Award, recognizing past ASID Society chairs and other professional members, will be presented to Sharon Sudbury Staley (Texas Gulf Coast), Hugh L. Latta (Georgia), Joyce W. Shore (Florida South), Maria V. Dallman (California Los Angeles), Hollie R. Schick (Wisconsin), and Sonya B. Odell (Texas).
