On October 13, Jennifer Post, Matthew Patrick Smyth, Basil Walter and a host of other design industry notables convened to celebrate at The Rug Company’s recently opened New York City location on East 59th Street. The cocktail party, hosted by Architectural Digest editor in chief Margaret Russell, celebrated 15 years of collaboration between Paul Smith and the carpet brand—including Paul’s new collection. More than 100 guests attended, including Joel Barkley, Tom Kligerman, James Aman, Penny Drue Baird, Ernest de la Torre, Christopher Maya, Gil Schafer, John Barman, Kelly Graham and Amanda Ross.

“Suzanne and Chris Sharp didn’t miss a beat in their move to a dazzling new uptown location for The Rug Company,” Russell said. “The gallery-like shop beautifully showcases all of their designs—especially the latest Paul Smith collection—and we were thrilled to host the opening with them. The Sharps definitely know how to throw a great party.”
