A collection of 3-D-printed faucets from DXV by American Standard was named an R&D 100 Award finalist for this year, in the Process/Prototyping category. The collection, which includes the Vibrato, Trope and Shadowbrook models, is the first ready-for-market line of residential faucets printed in metal.
“This prestigious recognition is a meaningful validation of the incredible efforts put forth by our DXV product design team,” says Jean-Jacques L’Henaff, vice president of design for faucets and fixtures for American Standard parent company LIXIL Water Technology Americas. “They pushed the boundaries of cutting-edge technologies to make it possible to create the delicate and dazzling forms of these 3-D printed faucets.”
The R&D 100 Awards are considered the “Oscars of Invention,” and recognize a wide range of products, including consumer goods and testing equipment, honoring industry, academia and government-sponsored research.
