We are seeking an energetic and highly organized Showroom & Sales Assistant to join our NYC team. This is a key support role within a fast-paced, luxury design environment. The ideal candidate is a go-getter with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a passion for design and service. You will play a vital role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the showroom and supporting our sales and design staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Front-of-House Duties
o Greet clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism
o Field initial client enquiries and explain de Gournay’s products and ordering procedure with confidence and knowledge.
o Answer and direct incoming phone calls
o Manage the enquiries inbox and direct emails to the correct department efficiently.
o Manage the front door, offer refreshments, and ensure a welcoming environment
Sales Support & Organization
o Assist sales team with client outreach and preparing for presentations, sample pulls, and follow-ups
o Keep the showroom organized, clean, and client-ready at all times
o Maintain inventory of samples, brochures, and showroom materials
o Coordinate return of samples from clients
o Other ad hoc tasks where required by the sales team
Administrative Support
o Assist with scheduling appointments and calendar management
o Handle shipping and receiving of samples and packages
o Support with data entry, filing, CRM, and other clerical tasks
o Ensure that the CRM database is maintained at all times with accurate client information
Event Assistance
o Help with the setup and breakdown of occasional showroom events
o Assist with hosting presentations and meetings for high-profile clients
Key Qualifications:
• Experience in a similar support, retail, or showroom role (luxury or design industry preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication; email tests will be required
• Professional phone and in-person demeanor
• Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and multitask
• Interest in design, interiors, or fine arts a plus
• Desire to learn about de Gournay’s new designs and production processes
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to internal systems
