Britany Simon Design is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with a real passion for interiors—and the experience to run residential full construction and full furnishing projects from start to finish. This is a full-time in-person position at our studio in Scottsdale, AZ.
REQUIREMENTS:
-5+ years professional residential interior design experience (construction & build finish design & full furnishing experience)
-Proven ability to lead projects from kickoff through installation and closeout
-Strong client leadership: confident presenting, guiding decisions, managing expectations
-Experience mentoring/training junior designers and supporting team standards
-Comfortable collaborating with architects, builders, and trades on active job sites
Design + Technical Expertise:
-Strong space planning and layout skills
-Deep understanding of construction and renovation workflows, detailing, and field conditions
-Ability to develop design concepts into complete, cohesive, buildable design plans
-High taste level with strong eye for scale, proportion, color, and layered finishes
-Strong knowledge of materials, furnishings, textiles, lighting, plumbing fixtures, appliances and hardware
Software + Tools:
-SketchUp and Layout proficiency REQUIRED
-CAD proficiency
-Strong capability with Adobe (InDesign/Photoshop) and/or Canva for presentations
-Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (docs, sheets, outlook)
Documentation + Deliverables:
-Ability to produce clear, professional design documentation (plans, elevations, specifications, schedules)
-Strong spec-writing and product selection documentation (organized, accurate, complete)
-Understanding of order-of-operations, lead times, and install readiness requirements
-Detail-driven: measurements, clearances, finish alignment, and coordination across trades.
Procurement + Vendor Management:
-Vendor sourcing fluency and trade/vendor relationship management
-Experience with purchasing workflows: quotes, POs, tracking, and resolving order issues
-Ability to work within budgets and communicate cost impacts proactively
-Strong problem-solving around availability, substitutions, and value engineering (without sacrificing design integrity)
