Job Description

Laura Hodges Studio is seeking a creative, thoughtful, collaborative, and self-motivated Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The Senior Designer will lead and manage multiple high-end design projects, including residential new builds, renovations and hospitality projects, from concept through completion, with the support of a Junior Designer and the Principal.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:
• Lead all phases of the design process, including concept development, design documentation, project management, and installation.
• Oversee project timelines, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
• Prepare and manage detailed design presentations, AutoCAD drawings, elevations, and rendered design boards.
• Source materials, furnishings, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and finishes to meet client specifications and aesthetic vision.
• Create and manage construction documents, specifications, and schedules for seamless project execution.
• Serve as an important point of contact for clients, builders, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout each project phase.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and quality control, providing updates to the principal and design team.
• Mentor junior designers by delegating tasks and providing guidance to foster their professional growth.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry vendors, showrooms, and artisans, as well as staying up to date on industry trends and materials.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a high-end residential design firm with strong technical and experiential knowledge of the design and construction process.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• Experience with Ivy, Studio Designer, or similar project management software is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of interior design standards, historical references, architectural styles and detailing, custom cabinetry and furniture design, upholstery and drapery design and specifications, and lighting layout and design.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
