Role Description:
The Sales & Customization Advisor plays a key role in delivering an elevated, design-forward client experience within our custom carpet showroom. Working closely with a small, highly collaborative team, this role partners with interior designers, architects, and discerning residential and commercial clients to guide projects from initial inquiry through specification and order completion.
This position requires a balance of relationship-building, product knowledge, attention to detail and background in architecture, furniture, and fine art. This salesperson serves as a trusted resource throughout long and complex project cycles, supporting clients with material selection, pricing, timelines, and coordination while upholding the showroom’s commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and service.
Success in this role comes from a consultative approach, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple projects at varying stages, all while contributing positively to a close-knit team environment. This is a relationship and project management role selling high-ticket, bespoke products with long sales cycles. Compensation will be a salary plus commission.
Working from both Carini Lang showrooms: Tribeca Flagship and D&D Showroom
Qualifications:
- Experience in sales, account coordination, project management, customer service or similar
- Experience with luxury home products and/or interior design
- Warm, professional, and client-service oriented, relationship driven
- Exceptional organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with moving timelines
- Comfortable working in a small business, respond proactively and adapt positively to evolving organizational changes and process improvements, supporting ongoing growth and refinement
- CRM or project management software experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Carini Lang brand with expert product knowledge; gain an understanding of our product, history, process and designs; effectively communicate our brand story and ethos to clients
- Understand color relationship and material compositions to serve as an advisor to clients
- Managing projects (including selecting and sending samples, quoting, gathering lead-times, creating and tracking POs, invoicing, clear communication in client correspondence and follow up)
- Collaborate with all members of the team, effectively distribute information to relevant team members as needed
- Manage and grow a portfolio of interior designers, architects, and end clients
- Conduct in-person and virtual client meetings, presentations, and showroom appointments
