Job Description

Barry Dixon, Inc. is seeking to add another member to our team who is highly motivated, proactive, and interested in collaboration. The ideal candidate is organized, and a self-motivated individual who is able to assist the Principal and Senior Designer with technical and design-focused tasks from initial planning through to final installation.
-Work closely with the Principal and Senior Designer in guiding the concept and design development, managing procurement, and coordinating installation.
-Keep updated AutoCAD drawings for interiors, covering furniture and lighting layouts, elevation views, tile and stone arrangements, and millwork specifications.
-Prepare both digital and physical presentations for clients, incorporating design schemes, detailed specifications, reference images, furniture layouts, and elevation plans.
-Gather and update extensive FF&E specifications.
-Work in tandem with external subcontractors and project partners, such as architects, general contractors, craftsmen, and others.
-Field surveying of client spaces.
-Attending project meetings and providing documentation support.
-Potential for travel to site locations.

Job Requirements

• Required: Degree from an accredited Interior Design School, Minimum Associate
• Required: Proficiency in CAD, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Preferred: At least 1-3 years experience in residential design
• Strong design background with good technical and detailed drawing skills
• Proficiency in Studio Designer preferred, but not mandatory
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and able to adjust to changing priorities, deadlines and schedules
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must be able to come into the office – this is not a remote position
