William Graper Design is growing & we're excited to meet with you! We are seeking a highly motivated, professional creative with a strong work ethic and excellent follow-through with a minimum of 3-5 years in residential design experience. This position has leadership potential as we are looking to invest in a candidate who desires to grow with us!
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drafting of floorpans, elevations and furniture plans including detailed millwork and shop drawings (2D REQUIRED; 3D preferred)
- Sourcing materials and creating visual presentations using Keynote & Google Slides to pitch FF&E to clients
- Taking field measurements with knowledge of construction schedules and the ability to project manage both in office and on-site
- Creative input during design phase with a collaborate spirit
- Gathering samples for materials such as tile, stone, fixtures, furniture and fabric with a deep understanding of work rooms & vendors in Los Angeles, CA.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & PROCUREMENT
- Collaborate with Principal Designer on sourcing FF&E, pulling cost estimates & screening of subcontractors and fabricators for project bid submissions
- Track & update procurement process using Studio Designer, particularly as it relates to finish schedules, plumbing, appliance packages, millwork, and approval of shop drawings
- Monitor construction phase to ensure compliance with original design intent
- Record keeping, effective follow through of tasks; managing and reporting regularly on timelines while providing client-centric solutions
- Tracking progress and documenting thorough on-site notes/updates/change orders
- Provide support on projects from concept through installation
- Develop project schedules: plumbing, lighting, furniture, hardware
- Create and track client budgets, orders, and delivery schedules using Studio Designer
- Requesting information from vendors & fabricators – pricing, lead time, color/size/finish options, availability, etc.
REQUIRED: Must have experience with Studio Designer, AutoCAD (2-D floorpans & elevations) and Google Suite.
Available IN-PERSON in LOS ANGELES, CA; hybrid work environment.
- In-depth understanding of high-end residential interior design in Los Angeles, CA
- Confidently communicating with Principal designer, vendors and clients with a professional, kind and thoughtful disposition
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in the field
- Ability to work seamlessly alongside internal + external teams
- Strong time management + organizational skills
- An eye for detail, quality, and accuracy
- Knowledgeable of architectural construction documents
- Ability to think critically, problem solve situations and work independently
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured automobile
