The Head of Procurement owns the studio's procurement function end to end — from vendor sourcing and purchase orders through customs clearance, freight, and final delivery. This is the studio's most operationally critical hire outside the design team: procurement touches every active project's budget, timeline, and client experience.
Manage the full procurement lifecycle in Studio Designer: sourcing, purchase orders, client proposals, and expediting/tracking through delivery.
–
Own vendor relationships — sourcing new vendors, negotiating pricing and trade terms, and maintaining an accurate, current vendor list, pricing, and item catalog.
–
Coordinate customs brokerage and import compliance on international purchases: duties and tariffs, import documentation, and working directly with customs brokers and freight forwarders.
–
Track shipments end to end, domestic and international — freight, white-glove delivery, receiving, and quality control on arrival.
–
Monitor procurement budgets and margins across active projects; flag cost or timeline risk to the Studio Director and Owner early.
–
Route project-level purchasing decisions to the Studio Director and overall vendor strategy and spend to the Owner, consistent with this role's dual reporting line.
–
Keep order status, tracking numbers, and delivery timelines current and visible to the design team.
Brandi Howe Studio is a small, luxury interior design studio based in New York City, with projects in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and across the U.S. We specialize in high fashion, luxury retail, and luxury residential design, led personally by founder and interior architect, Brandi Howe.
We work with retail brands including Cult Gaia, Carolina Herrera, and Guizio, as well as luxury hospitality and residential projects across the US.
We're a lean team keeping design, sourcing, and procurement in-house, and require our team to be fast-paced, adaptable and hard-working.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS for this role include:
–
5–10 years of relevant experience in procurement, vendor management, or logistics, ideally within interior design, furnishings, or a related trade.
–
Strong working proficiency in Studio Designer — comfortable with sourcing, purchase orders, vendor management, and expediting workflows in the platform.
–
High-level, hands-on experience with customs brokerage and international shipping: HTS classification, duties/tariffs, import documentation, and working relationships with brokers and freight forwarders.
–
Strong vendor relations and negotiation experience within the interior design or furnishings trade.
–
Excellent organizational systems for tracking dozens of concurrent orders across multiple projects without dropped details.
–
Warehouse or white-glove receiving/logistics experience is a strong plus.
–
Clear, professional written and verbal communication — this role is the connective tissue between vendors, freight partners, the Studio Director, and the Owner.
