Job Description

The Finance Manager plays a key leadership role at AVID Operations, overseeing our internal accounting team and serving as a trusted advisor to our interior design clients. This position blends strong accounting expertise with people management, client strategy, and a drive for continuous improvement.

You’ll be responsible for guiding the accounting team, supporting client relationships, ensuring compliance, and leading process improvements—all in alignment with AVID’s core values: Ethics, Growth, and Courage.

TEAM LEADERSHIP & MENTORSHIP
-Lead and mentor the accounting team, promoting learning and development.
-Manage workloads, client ratios, and performance reviews.
-Support hiring, onboarding, and training to ensure team success.
-Uphold high standards of service, accuracy, and responsiveness.
-Provide guidance on day-to-day team questions and email communication.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT & FINANCIAL STRATEGY
-Serve as a strategic financial partner for our interior design clients.
-Oversee complex transactions, multi-state sales tax filings, and special projects.
-Conduct end-of-month and end-of-year financial reviews.
-Manage onboarding for new accounting clients and assist with new business opportunities.
-Customize accounting packages to meet client needs.

PAYROLL & COMPLIANCE
-Guide the team on payroll compliance and best practices.
-Ensure all payroll processes meet federal, state, and local requirements.

AVID ACCOUNTING
-Manage monthly invoicing and accounts receivable.
-Track billable targets and team financial performance.

OPERATIONS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
-Oversee password security systems and access protocols.
-Document and refine accounting procedures and workflows.
-Lead research and special projects aimed at improving operations.
-Identify growth opportunities and support business development efforts.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
- Prior experience managing a team and leading training or mentorship programs.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Experience working with interior design firms or creative service industries is highly desirable.
- Studio Designer software experience (www.studiodesigner.com).
- Professional communication, analytical, and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Must be tech savvy with the ability to quickly learn new programs and apps.
- Must operate on a high level of professionalism with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
- Note, this position will require a successful background check which we will initiate prior to the onboarding process.
