We are seeking a part-time design assistant interested in working on creative projects at a growing firm. This is currently a 10 hour per week position that could rapidly lead to more hours.
Projects vary consisting of full architectural renovations to smaller scale design projects in high-end residential. This is a supportive role collaborating with the owner of the company assisting in the delivery of all phases of our projects from conceptual through to implementation.
Someone who is working autonomously with an inherent sense of design across multiple mediums is ideal. We value thoughtful initiative over having all the answers. The ability to communicate within a team as well as with vendors and subcontractors is necessary. Applicants should also demonstrate a strong balance between design sensitivity and technical knowledge, together with project organization skills that are necessary to operate in a fast-paced environment. You don't need to know everything, but critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while knowing when collaboration will add value is encouraged. We value thoughtful initiative over having all the answers.

We often collaborate with French artisans and vendors. French language skills would be an asset in this position.
Responsibilities Include:
Assisting with Schematic Design, Space Planning, Project Planning, Material Sourcing, Production of Mood/Sample Boards, Finish Selection, FF&E Procurement, Installation Drawings and Specifications, Scheduling and managing Site Visits, Field Verifications/Installation Assisting the Principal with day-to-day Office Management including but not limited to: Scheduling, Sample Returns, Organization, etc…
Working with the team on Detailed Invoicing, Proposals, Ordering & Tracking Items.
The position is based in NYC and can be hybrid remote & office.
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
At least 1-year post graduate experience in residential design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
3D Rendering is ideal
Experience with Studio Designer software
Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and work autonomously
Excellent multi-tasking ability, organizational skills and great attention to detail
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
U.S. work authorization
The principal of the firm was born in New York. She studied at the New York School of Interior Design. After working for prestigious firms on projects in the Northeast and Europe. She founded her international design practice in New York City. Drawing inspiration from archaic design vernacular and always searching for the past to inform the future, each project shows her respect for architecture and her reverence for proportion, scale, balance and harmony.
Her skilled collaborators and craftsmen share her values of refinement and the use of luxury details.
This great passion for collecting unique objects and furniture inspired her involvement with offering a curated selection of historical furniture and decorative art pieces alongside contemporary works to clients and beyond.
Current projects include an apartment in Flatiron, and East Village Penthouse renovation for contemporary art collectors, and a west Soho apartment renovation.
