Nantucket House Antiques & Interior Design seeks a detailed, responsible, self-motivated individual to assist in all aspects of project management and customer care. This is a full-time position with opportunity for growth. Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Request quotes and maintain project budgets
• Place orders and communicate with vendors
• Work closely with bookkeeper to assure timely payments and billing accuracy
• Manage project timelines and order fulfillment
• Send, track, and receive shipments
• Assist with client meeting preparations and follow-up
• Assist with on-site installations
• Interior design degree is not a necessity but a college degree and a minimum of 3 years professional experience is preferred.
• Key attributes include strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, excellence in problem solving and resourcefulness.
• Ability to take direction, prioritize tasks and work independently in a deadline driven environment.
• Must be detail-oriented, have exceptional follow-through and able to take thorough measurements, photos and meeting notes.
• Knowledge of MS Office and ability to manage internet presence (website, Instagram, 1st Dibs). Willingness to learn Photoshop, Google SketchUp or AutoCad for space planning.
• Professional presentation, functional flexibility and a can-do attitude.
• Year-round residency on Nantucket with stable housing arrangement and ability to travel periodically is preferred. Remote work for this position is possible if candidate has 3 years of direct industry experience.
Nantucket House is a residential interior design firm and retail antique shop located in downtown Nantucket, MA. This family-owned business was established in 1973 and the assistant will report directly to the owners, Michelle and Tucker Holland. We are committed to building lasting relationships and have had the good fortune to work with clients over the course of many years. We work hard to honor both the history of a house and a family in our designs, while creating a modern, functional home.
