“All good things come to an end,” said designer Bunny Williams in regards to the closing of Treillage, the iconic Upper East Side store she opened with husband John Rosselli in 1991. What has been the go-to source for antiques and garden provisions will close its door this June.

Williams and Rosselli stocked the store with unusual finds they brought back from their frequent travels to Europe, Africa and Asia. “Everything we loved,” said Rosselli. A variable price point was a distinctive feature of Treillage; pieces for under $20 could be found next to rare antiques.
Frequent shoppers over the years have included Brook Astor, Oscar and Annette de la Renta, Anna Wintour, Michael Smith, Jeffrey Bilhuber, Sigourney Weaver, among others.

Williams and Rosselli hosted countless parties and exhibitions for their favorite artists such as Charles Masson, Christian Brechneff and Monica Incesia, and craftspeople such as ceramicist Alison Evans and Kim Dickey. From food selected by Rosselli to exquisite flower arrangements and hand-written invitations, every soiree was one to remember.
The final party at Treillage will celebrate Williams’ new book, a revised and updated edition of Bunny Williams on Garden Style, released in March by Stewart, Tabori & Chang.
Fans don’t have to say goodbye permanently. Williams and Rosselli look forward to introducing Treillage online.
