What to see and do this week at Design ADAC

The Atlanta Decorative Arts Center (ADAC) and Veranda magazine will present the annual industry gathering, Design ADAC (April 27–30), inviting attendees to take a glimpse inside some of the most innovative minds in the industry while finding their own definition of a luxury aesthetic. Take a look at some of the top events to attend during the week.

Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield, co-owners of Los Angeles-based interior design firm Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design, will give the keynote presentation High Style in the ADAC Presentation Room, First Floor Atrium, at 10 a.m. The presentation will focus on how Hollywood has influenced their design style, accompanied by photographs from their book High Style. A reception and book signing will follow the keynote in the Peacock Alley showroom (ADAC West, Suite A6).

A featured look from Liberty of London

The DODD MFA Exhibition 2015 will feature the work of 19 graduate candidates from the MFA program at Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. The sculptures, original paintings, photography, jewelry, fabrics and more will be on view from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 28 in the ADAC Event Space (Suite 403).

Co-founder and CEO of Costantini Design William Stuart will be at Martin Nash (Suite 308) all day on Tuesday for cocktails and to discuss the Argentinian handcrafted furniture design and manufacturing company.

Jerry Pair (Suite 508) will host Emma Mawston, head of design for Liberty Interior Collections, for a discussion on how its design studio researches and creates new prints at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28.

On Wednesday, April 29, Duralee and Veranda will host a book signing and light luncheon with Veranda Editor Carolyn Englefield for her new book A Passion for Living in the Duralee showroom (Suite 125) at 12:30 p.m. The book is a compendium of her 13 years as a European correspondent for American design magazines and details how aesthetic choices are combined to express a sense of personal style in Belgium, England, France, Italy, Switzerland and Sweden.

The Southeast Designers & Architect of the year celebration will be held at the Jerry Pair showroom (Suite 412) on April 29 at 4 p.m. ADAC, Veranda and Jerry Pair will host attendees and the awards finalists for light refreshments.

Robert Allen (Suite 401) is celebrating the launch of Beacon Hill’s exclusive silk collection, Maravilha. The collection features Beacon Hill’s signature style with a South American twist. Stop by for light bites, drinks and a look at the new pieces.

Mary McDonald will give a keynote presentation titled “Beyond Design” on Thursday, April 30, at 10 a.m. at the ADAC Presentation Room, First Floor Atrium. McDonald will talk about how multifaceted an interior design career has become, and the many turns her own career has taken, in a Q&A in with Veranda Editor in Chief Clinton Smith. A meet-and-greet reception will take place following the keynote in the Schumacher showroom (Suite 303).

David Rockwell will discuss the intersection between architecture and theatre in his keynote..

David Rockwell will present the keynote What If… on Thursday, April 30 at 1 p.m. He will discuss the intersection between architecture and theatre, and his new monograph, What If… A Champagne reception and book signing will follow in the Jim Thompson showroom (Suite 304).

Design ADAC will culminate with the announcement of the Southeast Designers & Architect of the Year Awards, recognizing firms and individuals who exemplify the highest level of talent in the design industry.
