The Atlanta Decorative Art Center (ADAC) will kick off its annual multi-day affair, Discover ADAC, on Monday, September 26. The 2016 schedule includes four days of panel discussions, product launches, showroom programs and evening parties with industry tastemakers. There will be five keynote presentations, including "Design as Experience,” a conversation between designer Ken Fulk and House Beautiful editor in chief Sophie Donelson; a book discussion with Veranda editor in chief Clinton Smith and the author of Wanderlust, Dallas and Switzerland–based designer Michelle Nussbaumer; and “Design Wise: Your Smart Guide to a Beautiful Home,” in which designer and HGTV personality Vern Yip will share his favorite insider tips and formulas.

"The theme of Discover ADAC is ADAC: On the Edge and each featured speaker and product line has found success by pushing the boundaries of the way we look at design," said Katie Miner, ADAC general manager. "My goal is that people leave Discover ADAC with an infusion of confidence to explore more creative paths, to question how they are approaching their work, and to look for ways that they can advance the world of interiors in big and small ways through an authentic perspective."

On Thursday evening, Donghia and Editor at Large, together with Design Collective, will premiere the documentary Angelo Donghia: Design Superstar to the Southeast design community. Prior to the screening, a discussion will be held between EAL contributor Arianne Nardo and Donghia design director Stephen Levine about the legacy of Angelo Donghia and how his entrepreneurial prowess catapulted him to icon status.

Following this event, Discover ADAC will wrap up with the first-ever Thrift Studio Preview Party, which will benefit Dwell With Dignity. Guests will have the opportunity to shop discounted products in vignettes designed by Atlanta–based designers Michel Smith Boyd, Robert Brown, David Ecton, Lance Jackson, Niki Papadopoulos, William Peace and Carole Weaks.

"Thrift Studio is a 30-day pop-up shop created in 2011 that has grown into a highly anticipated and can’t-miss event for Dwell with Dignity, with over 500 in attendance on opening night," said Kim Turner, VP of Dwell with Dignity. "We look forward to creating this same type of frenzy in Atlanta." Purchase tickets for the event here.
