Interior Design’s Designers’ Open House invites guests to explore homes designed by contemporary architects and interior designers as part of openhousenewyork (OHNY) October 6 and 7.

Interior Design’s Designers’ Open House opens the doors to the homes of the following designers: Aizaki Allie (Creme), Williamsburg;  Joan Blumenfeld (Perkins + Will) and Robert Krone (Robert Krone Architect), Harlem; Laura Bohn (Laura Bohn Design Associates), West Village; Scott Bromley (Bromley Caldari Architects), Garment District; Lea Ciavarra (lubrano ciavarra architects), Brooklyn Heights; Christopher Coleman (Christopher Coleman Interior Design), Williamsburg; Koray Duman (Sayigh Duman Architects), Chinatown; Thomas Jayne (Thomas Jayne Studio), SoHo; David Ling (David Ling Architect), Gramercy; Jayne Michaels (2 Michaels), Midtown; Paul Ochs (Ochs Design), SoHo; Shamir Shah (Shamir Shah Design), Chelsea; James and Hayes Slade (Slade Architecture), Lower East Side; Ali Tayar (Ali Tayar/Parallel Design), Midtown; and George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg (Yabu Pushelberg), West Village.

“At Interior Design, we live and breathe design—it’s in our DNA,” says Cindy Allen, the magazine’s editor-in-chief. “Each month our readers journey through remarkable projects by simply opening the page. Partnering with OHNY and inviting superstars of design to really open the doors of their own homes was a natural extension. Who doesn’t want to be on the inside—it’s voyeurism at its best.”

Located predominantly in Manhattan, these 15 homes demonstrate innovative design solutions, stylish retro-fittings, and sustainable design features. They range from polished mid-century modern to a newly constructed Harlem row house; from a West Village pied-à-terre with Hudson River views, to a converted 19th century dental factory that now serves as a live/work space complete with a moat, bridge, and water wall. Many of these homes will feature “opendialogues,” which is an opportunity for visitors to discuss the design process directly with the architects and interior designers involved. All of the properties in the collection will be included in Interior Design’s September issue in the “City Living” feature.

“I have no doubt,” says Margaret Sullivan, board president of OHNY and interior design director at H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture, “that Interior Design’s Designers’ Open House collection will be the number one destination for architecture and design aficionados during the 10th Annual OHNY Weekend. The opening private residences are always a priority for OHNY, but thanks to Cindy Allen, Interior Design, and the architects and interior designers participating in this series, our upcoming will be nothing short of amazing!”

More information on Interior Design’s Designers’ Open House Interior Design residences and other sites is included in the 2012 OHNY Weekend Event Guide in the September 27th issue of Time Out New York.

A complete list of OHNY Weekend sites and programs go live online at www.ohny.org on September 27th. For sites and programs that require it, advance reservations will be taken beginning the morning of September 27th.
