Tilton Fenwick is offering pro bono design services for the youth drop-in space at BOOM! Health's Wellness Center, opening in the Bronx, New York, later this season. The Wellness Center will offer prevention, care coordination and housing and legal services, as well as a primary care center, a pharmacy and a café, situated in a 35,000-square-foot historical space.

The Tilton Fenwick–designed area, located on the third floor, will welcome all youth, with a focus on the LGBT population. “We are so thrilled to be involved with the design of the new drop-in space,” the principal designers, Anne Maxwell Foster and Suysel dePedro Cunningham, announced. “Meeting with the youth who will be using the space has been a joy and an essential part of our design process. We look forward to creating a space that is both functional and inspiring for them.”

The pair originally became involved because BOOM! Health's president Jose Davila is a family friend of Cunningham's. Her father died of AIDS in the 1990s, and part of the Center's mission involves AIDS education and prevention. "So this is a cause close to our hearts," said Foster. "And we wanted the kids to have a well designed haven for them to be able to escape and be surrounded by beauty."
