Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation will present its 10th annual Visionaires awards gala at the Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center, on September 30. This year’s honorees are architect Annabelle Selldorf, designer Thomas Heatherwick and architectural theorist, historian and critic Charles Jencks. The gala has so far brought in $400,000 in gross revenue, a 39 percent increase over last year’s event. Proceeds benefit the foundation and Sir John Soane’s Museum in London.

The event’s international honorary chairs include Sir Peter Westmacott, British Ambassador to the United States, Lady Westmacott, Margaret Russell of Architectural Digest, Michael T. Sweeney of Steinway & Sons and architect Robert A. M. Stern.

Each year, the foundation celebrates architect and teacher Sir John Soane’s contributions by hailing visionaries in the architecture, design, urban planning, architectural education and philanthropy fields with a black-tie event at an “architecturally significant” locale in New York City. Previous honorees include David Adjaye, Phyllis Lambert, Norman Foster, Michael Bruno and Jaquelin T. Robertson.
