DesignIntelligence, the Design Futures Council’s bimonthly journal, released its ranking of America’s top schools for architecture, landscape architecture, interior design and industrial design. The annual survey, America’s Best Architecture & Design Schools, ranks undergrad and grad programs “from the perspective of leading practitioners” from top U.S. firms who are responsible for hiring or supervising design pros. This year’s survey tallied the responses from over 1,400 professional practices, which were asked, “In your firm’s hiring experience in the past five years, which schools are best preparing students for a future in the profession and designing a sustainable future?”
The organizations were also asked for their take on which programs are ideal for teaching particular skills, including design, communication, sustainability and technology.
The top undergraduate programs for interior design:

3. Rhode Island School of Design
4. TIE: Kansas State University and New York School of Interior Design
