London Design Week gears up to host designers for new collections, design lectures, seminars and masterclasses March 11-13 at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour showrooms as well as outside in King’s Road, Chelsea.
Headline speakers include David Rockwell who will reveal his unique attitude to design and Paul Cocksedge who has made his name with technology and light to create magical installations and public art. Emma Burns, senior decorator of Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler, talks about her unique approach while style editor Clare Nolan discovers what makes a house a home. Stephen Woodhams and Joanna Wood discuss how to design the outside from the inside while Jeremy Musson explores great country houses of England.
An expert panel including Martin Hulbert, Suzy Hoodless and Monika Apponyi will reveal the secret of running a successful design business, and Tim Heywood,Terence Disdale and Andrew Winch will talk about designing for superyachts. A professional practice seminar sees Jane Lawrence of Conran & Partners, Deborah Rosenblum of WATG and Nathan Hutchins of HBA discuss the opportunities in hospitality interiors in emerging Asia. A full day masterclass sees style-setter Harriet Patterson and designers David Keech and Samantha Miller explore why the current look is back to the future.
