Students are invited to compete in a design competition judged by Jonathan Adler. The SurfaceSet 2016 Student Innovation Competition, presented by Formica Corporation, is open to students enrolled in interior design programs and architecture schools. Entries are accepted until November 20. Students should submit an interior-design rendering of a commercial space using at least three selections from the Formica SurfaceSet collection. The collection includes 35 new laminates that draw inspiration from minimalism and nature.

“The next generation of interior designers is in school now, bursting with creativity they can’t wait to put to use in the professional world. The SurfaceSet 2016 Student Innovation Competition is a way to inspire that creativity and foster innovation using beautiful, durable Formica Brand Laminate,” says Scott Dannenfelser, commercial design lead at Formica North America .

In addition to Dannenfelser and Adler, the judges include Gerri Chmiel, residential design lead at Formica North America; and Renee Hytry Derrington, group VP of design for Fletcher Building’s Laminates & Panels Division, which includes Formica Corporation.

Entries are being accepted here.
