iGuzzini illuminazione, manufacturer of high-end architectural lighting headquartered in Recanati, Italy, will launch its first showroom in the U.S. at 60 Madison Avenue in New York City. The 4,700 square-foot space officially opens in May 2010.

"New York is a financial and cultural capital with a thriving architecture and design community," says Adolfo Guzzini, president of iGuzzini and a company founder. "Establishing a presence here allows us to better serve our existing American clientele and support our move into key markets throughout the US and North America."

The showroom will feature new products for 2010, including Primopiano, a projector designed by Renzo Piano (Piano Design), and Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas’s Zyl system, will be on view here as well.

iGuzzini lighting illuminates the Linked Hybrid Complex in Beijing, China, the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco, and The Morgan Library & Museum and The New York Times Building in New York City.

Collaborations with architects and designers such as Ron Arad, Piero Castiglioni, Norman Foster, Massimiliano Fuksas, Renzo Piano, and Giò Ponti, have helped build the reputation of the 52 year-old company.

iGuzzini received the 2010 iF Product Design Award for Archilede, an LED street-lighting system designed and manufactured for the Italian energy provider, Enel Sole. The luminaire reduces energy consumption by 44% when compared to traditional street lamps. The company's commitment to sustainability reflects its belief in the power of technical lighting to enhance and improve human activity.

iGuzzini’s New York showroom will be run by iGuzzini North America, a joint venture between iGuzzini and the Sistemalux Group, which operates iGuzzini showrooms in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
