Italian lighting company FLOS announced a first-ever one-of-a-kind tattooing event entitled Get Lit, Get Ink’d which will take place at FLOS’ SoHo showroom this Sunday, May 15.
To celebrate the launch of his new iconic lamps designed for FLOS, the Dutch designer Marcel Wanders will offer limited-edition Wanders-designed tattoos, inked by Scott Trerrotola of Ritual 13 in New York. Wanders will also sign a limited number of copies of his new book, Interiors, published by Rizzoli.
Recently recognized by Freshly Inked magazine as one of the top New York tattoo artists of 2010/2011, Trerrotola will offer three limited-edition tattoo designs modeled after artistic interpretations of Marcel Wanders’ lighting designs for FLOS: Skygarden, Can Can and Chrysalis.
“Designing for Flos has always been inspirational to me. Therefore I am more than happy to present my work in New York next week,” said Marcel Wanders.
“Since the beginning Marcel’s design has been a tattoo in my imagination!” said Piero Gandini, Chairman and CEO of FLOS Spa.
