Last week at Christofle's Madison Avenue showroom in New York City, more than 50 designers and industry guests gathered for the reveal of the limited-edition Gold Box by Christofle for wine and spirits brand Krug.

Embossed with a fingerprint that symbolizes the history of Krug, the Gold Box is home to a Grande Cuvee bottle of champange, and once the champagne is removed, it becomes a candle holder.

"Krug and Christofle are two of France’s design houses that share many traits such as elegance, romance and a taste for high-quality design," said Tyler Greenpope, special projects manager for Christofle, of the partnership. "They are two names that are synomomus with luxury and design."

Guests of the event mingled and sipped on Krug champagne. Notable attendees included interior designer David Cheng and product designers Juan Carlos Rodado and Ivonne Rodado.

The box comes packaged in a one-of-a-kind oak case and is stamped with a six-digit identifier that allows buyers to look up the history of their bottle as told by the cellar master. Each box retails for $1,500 and is sold at the Christofle showroom at 846 Madison Avenue in New York City.
