Christofle made an exciting announcement during an afternoon tea at the St. Regis Hotel: the launch of its bridal registry. Wedding planners, florists, caterers and design enthusiasts recently gathered in the newly renovated Fountainbleu Room, where Claudia Hanlin, founder of the bridal resource and design service Wedding Library, showcased Christofle pieces in two ornate tablescapes.

The formal garden-themed table featured Jardin d’Eden silver as well as a boxwood hedge with niches and recess lighting that highlighted silver Christofle pieces. It all intended to leave viewers with the impression that the more time they spent in a Christofle store, the more there was to be discovered. According to Hanlin, every piece, even the salt and pepper shakers, is exquisite.

“For the formal table, I didn’t want it to be too terribly serious,” Hanlin said. “I was thinking sort of southern hospitality, very gracious theme using beautiful silver everyday, but putting it on a really gorgeous, lush table. I’ve been having a little obsession with boxwood so that played a part of the story.”

For the casual table, Hanlin went with something “very white and pure,” she explained. “I was trying to think out-of-the box a little bit and I really loved these cotton stalks. Their round shapes sort of reminded me of the round circular design that is on all of the Galea silver pieces. It really punctuated the table and is dramatic and different—something that maybe people haven’t seen before. The dark brown, cona tablecloth was so dark it just fell away and your eyes focused more on the china.”

"[With the new online bridal registry], registrants can manage, from the comfort of their own home, a wish list of items which shoppers can purchase online, commemorating the occasion,” said Christofle Executive Vice President Ginny Gerard. “From flatware and china, to home decor items and serving pieces, Christofle offers a wide array of items in both traditional and contemporary designs to suit any couple.”

Notable attendees included Christofle President and CEO to the Americas Nicolas Krafft, Mark Ingram of Mark Ingram Atelier, St. Regis Director of Catering Gary Merjian, State of the Art Senior Account Executive Dawn Celovsky, Shawn A. Rabideau of Shawn Rabideau Events & Design and Colony Club Special Events Manager Porfirio Figueroa.

“The tables are very classic, very clean, but they have a touch of elegance to them,” Rabideau said. “I think the formal one one would be beautiful for a winter wedding with the cotton and the deeper, richer colors. Then you have the boxwood over here; that would be beautiful for a springtime wedding, engagement party or bridal shower.”
