Deborah Berke named 2016 HC&G Innovator

Hamptons Cottages & Gardens recognized this year’s Innovation in Design Awards winners earlier this month, honoring Deborah Berke, architect, educator and founder of Deborah Berke Partners, with the Innovator Award and L&L Designs with the top Interior Design prize. About 240 guests gathered at Campbell Stables to celebrate Berke and honorees in the categories of architecture, interior design, kitchen design, bath design, garden design, product design and small spaces, chosen by judges including interior designer Matthew Patrick Smyth and architects Lee Mindel, Michael Haverland and Russell Groves.

Berke’s work spans residential, cultural, institutional, commercial and hospitality categories, including current projects on both coasts, the Rockefeller Arts Center in Fredonia, New York, and an Upper East Side townhouse. She also recently became the dean of the Yale School of Architecture.

GARDEN DESIGN
Winner: Pembrooke Fine Landscapes
2nd place: LaGuardia Design Group

PRODUCT DESIGN
Winner: Marbella Credenza by Kavante
