Spring cleaning isn't just for the home; plenty of designers and other industry professionals have dusted off their resumes and are headed off to new opportunities. Discover who’s who, and who’s where, in EAL’s seasonal roundup of the industry’s notable career moves.

EDITORIAL & PUBLISHING

After five years as style editor for Luxe Interiors + Design magazine, Cara Gibbs Long has moved on to be a freelance editorial writer and stylist for publications including *Wallpaper.

The former managing editor for Domino magazine, Brittany Chevalier is now the design & market editor at Luxe Interiors + Design magazine.

Domino has named a number of new hires and promotions. Elaina Sullivan was just promoted to style editor from her prior role as market editor. Victoria Gordon has been hired as digital account manager; Emily Hamilton as ad operations manager; and Emily Possenriede as senior buyer.

PR, SALES & MARKETING

Liz Nightingale is the new vice president, director of marketing at the DDB. She brings a wealth of marketing and advertising experience from Gourmet, Veranda, Schumacher and, most recently, Christofle, where she launched the MOOD flatware collection.

Mary Vu has joined the DCH as its new director of marketing after her most recent role as public relations coordinator for Neiman Marcus Houston.

Sharna Daduk has joined Demand Media as director, public relations. She arrives with prior experience gained at HL Group, Bender/Helper Impact and PMK*BNC.

Etosha Moh has left her role as associate director at Bollare to pursue freelance consulting.

Olson Kundig has named Ciara Cronin as communications manager to develop and execute firm-wide communications in U.S. and international markets. She brings experience as PR and e-communication manager at the textile design brand Chilewich, and as marketing manager with the Danish home furnishings company BoConcept.

Dylan Thomas has been named PR director at Architectural Digest.

Allison Hall has joined HL Group as account coordinator, Home and Design. She brings prior experience as promotions coordinator at Condé Nast Traveler and sales assistant at Architectural Digest.

Steelyard has appointed Steven Avitable as SVP of business development and Vera Djonovic as business development director, East Coast. Avitable has served in executive and independent consulting positions in major retail, trade and design companies including Robert Allen, Christopher Guy, Ralph Lauren Home and Kate Spade. Djonovic has worked in fashion and interiors, online as well as through in-person engagement with key industry players. She led business development at V&M (Vintage and Modern) and was instrumental in the growth of the company before it was acquired in 2013. Since then, Djonovic has been working with luxury brands such as Dolce & Gabbana.

DESIGN & ARCHITECTURE

Three architects at Michael Graves Architecture & Design have been promoted to associate principal: Robert Blaser, Matthew Ligas and James Wisniewski. Blaser, who joined the firm in 1998, has extensive hospitality experience and has earned awards including the International Property Award, Asia Pacific Leisure Architecture 2011 (for Resorts World Sentosa); Gold Plus Award, Singapore Building Authority Green Mark program (Resorts World Sentosa); Harpers Bazaar Spa Awards 2016 ESPA Spa (Citation); and World Traveler Awards 2015 (Resorts World Sentosa), among others.

Dallas, Texas–based Studio 11 has announced two new hires: Michael Harper joins as senior project architect, following work at Forrest Perkins, Leo A. Daly and T. Howard + Associates; Michael L. Brown joins the firm as brand and product manager with past projects including the Kempinski Boutique Hotel & Spa in Beijing, Hotel Sofitel So Rio in Rio de Janeiro, Bloom Central Marriott Hotel in Abu Dhabi and Eko Atlantic Marina District Luxury Residences in Lagos, Nigeria.

Christopher Guy has recently made seven new appointments, including Sandra Colyer to vice president of operations and finance. Colyer has held senior management positions with AT&T, Lucent Technologies, Getronics and CrossCom National. Meghan Davison has been named director of account services following experience gained at the firm, including three promotions during her six-year tenure. Additional appointments include Tracey Lin as marketing and West Hollywood showroom operations manager; DJ Lanzoni as director of regional sales, Midwest; Bryan Tickle as director of regional sales, Southeast; Rose Mello as director of regional sales, Northeast and Canada; and Scott Rosenberg as director of regional Sales, West.

Kelly Farrell has been promoted to senior vice president and named global practice group leader for workplace at architecture-planning-design firm CallisonRTKL.

Max Humphrey has left his role as partner at Burnham Design in Los Angeles to found his own firm, Max Humphrey, in Portland, Oregon.

Wheelock Design has named Carl Lana creative director for its new flagship design store in Old Greenwich, Connecticut. Lana arrives with 35-plus years of experience as an interior designer in New York.

MANUFACTURING & RETAIL

New York-based Workwell Partners has named Kristine Scotto to Director of Strategic Planning. Scotto previously served as the firm's marketing manager. 

Mike Constable has been named commercial director at Lapicida. Constable brings experience as managing director of leading fabric house JAB International Furnishings. He joins other recent appointments, including head of visual merchandising and brand Dewi Meredith-Jones, formerly of De Beers, Ralph Lauren and Dunhill; head of marketing Victoria Freeman, formerly of Conran, Luchford APM and Candy & Candy; Paula Henderson, head of product development, Home and Accessories, formerly of Liberty London, Monsoon and M&S; and head of business development Kim Graham, formerly of RHA Furniture, Lizzo and Donghia.

Michael Crotty has been named chief marketing officer of The Shade Store. Prior to this role, Crotty oversaw omni-channel marketing, creative and strategy at Hudson’s Bay Company as chief marketing officer and executive vice president for Hudson’s Bay and Lord & Taylor.

Wayfair has tapped Frank Mulcahy as director of media solutions. Before joining the company, he was senior director at Apple, where he led New England sales and business development efforts for the iAd marketing platform and worked with top agencies and brands to promote advertising campaigns within the iAd Network, Apple Music, Apple Pay and Apple News. Prior to Apple, Mulcahy was the senior regional director at Microsoft Advertising, where he led the New England sales office, tripling revenues to more than $28 million each year. Before that, he held various leadership roles at Yahoo, Wired Digital-Lycos and Internet Presentations.

Joe Nacci has joined Nemo Tile as an A&D account manager, following experience earned at Herman Miller, Inscape, ThinkSpaceNY and most recently, 3form.

RHF Investments, the parent company of Century Furniture, Hancock & Moore, Jessica Charles, Highland House Furniture, Randall Allan and Cabot Wrenn, has named a number of new appointments and promotions. Alex Shuford, former president of Century Furniture, has been named the CEO of RHF’s family of brands, and will oversee all companies in the Rock House Farm family of brands. Brandon Hucks, former CFO for Century, has been named CFO for RHF. Kevin Boyle, former VP of operations for Century, has been named COO for RHF. Roger Jones, former VP of global logistics for Century, has been named Senior VP global logistics for RHF. Comer Wear, former senior director of marketing for Century, has been named VP of marketing for RHF. Amy Guyer, former human resources director for Century, has been named VP, human resources for RHF. Jay Paschall has been promoted to president of Century Furniture and will fill the role formerly held by Shuford. Paschall formerly held the VP of sales role at Century Furniture. Phil Brown has been promoted to VP of upholstery for Century Furniture. Prior to this promotion, he was senior director of Century Leather and Century Contract.

Hansgrohe USA has named Brian C. Dunn director of sales, global projects, bringing experience earned at leadership positions at J&J Flooring, Mohawk, Leggett & Platt, and Grohe America, where he developed key relationships across designer specification, architectural, hospitality and residential builder/developer and sales fields.

Tim Stumm has joined Dallas Market Center as vice president, Lighting & Design Industry Leasing, where he'll be responsible for leasing and managing floors dedicated to residential design, as well leasing responsibilities for the recently announced Light + Design showroom.

Alana Moskowitz has joined Kravet as Public Relations and Communication Manager. She will spearhead all of the company's PR efforts, including the marketing and introduction of new collections and programs. She arrives with experience earned at VP+C Partners and The New York Design Center.
