Designers from throughout the southeast will soon transform a Cashiers, North Carolina cottage and its surrounding grounds. Running August 22 to 30, the showhouse will fund-raise for the Cashiers Historical Society, which is dedicated to preserving local history through preservation, programming and events. Festivities kick off on August 21 with cocktails, dinner, dancing and a preview of the showhouse for the opening night gala.

The events continue with a celebrity luncheon, featuring keynote speaker VERANDA Editor in Chief Clinton Smith; “Mash & Pig,” an evening with designer James Farmer replete with cigars and bourbon; and Brunch at Wade, a meal with guest speakers that concludes showhouse week and showcases Southern living.

This year's participating designers include Cathy Kincaid, Carole Weaks, Joan Anderson, Rebecca Brandon, Barbara Heath, Anne Sherrill, Amanda Lindroth, Shannon Berrey, Sally Johannessen, James Farmer, Douglas Hilton, Jena Salmon, Ann Huff and Meg Harrington, Maria McLaurin, Gretchen Edwards and Mark Williams and Niki Papadopoulos.
