New this week are two calls for entries for top interior designers and architects. The 2016 AIA New York Design Awards is now accepting submissions for architectural design by AIA New York Chapter members or by New York City–based architects in any location, as well as work in New York City by architects from around the globe. Submissions are due by January 29, 2016, and winners will be announced at the Design Awards Jury Symposium on February 29. Learn more.
The 2016 Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition is now accepting submissions from North American architects and designers who feature Italian ceramic tiles in “innovative, sustainable, functional and beautiful recent projects.” The three award categories are Institutional, Residential and Commercial/Hospitality, and submissions may include a range of projects, “from home kitchens to corporate offices to tile-clad facades, as long as they feature Italian tile and amazing design.”
Each winner will receive a cash prize, as well as a trip to Bologna, Italy, for the world’s biggest exhibition of tile and bathroom furnishings, Cersaie 2016. Submissions are due by January 15, 2016, and winners will be officially announced in April at Coverings, North America’s premier tile and stone trade show. Learn more.
