AmericasMart Atlanta and Dwell with Dignity are teaming up to donate design to a deserving area family. The family’s three-bedroom apartment will be reimagined by Egypt Sherrod of HGTV’s Property Virgins and Flipping Virgins, and Steve McKenzie of McKenzie Design and Steve McKenzie’s Home Store. Home furnishings will be provided by AmericasMart showrooms; design blogger Dena Stormer will contribute custom-refurbished pieces as well as handmade artwork, while AmericasMart staff and other partners will install the design.
“We are delighted to support Dwell with Dignity in providing a wonderful home interior for this very deserving Atlanta family,” says Mark Furlet, senior vice president of leasing for AmericasMart’s Home collection. “AmericasMart has maintained a connection to the Atlanta community since our inception nearly 60 years ago, and we look forward to using our unique skills and resources to continue to support our community through this very special project.”
“AmericasMart is the perfect partner to help us expand Dwell with Dignity to the Atlanta area,” says the organization’s vice president and director, designer Kim Turner. “It has not only connected us to a plethora of wonderful merchandise to complete our designs, but the dedicated staff is ready to pitch in and help us create a new home for a great family.”
The design will be installed over November 11 to 13; in the weeks prior, the design center will host a pantry drive to collect goods and gift cards for the family. Showrooms and designers who are interested in providing merchandise or a financial donation can reach out to Designer Relations Manager Cathryn Miller.
