Each spring for the past 21 years, the home accents industry association ART hosts a conference to include business, motivational, home trend and design presenters, along with interactive workshops. This year, the ART Conference takes place May 7-10 at the Palms Hotel and Spa in Miami, and features interior designer Alexa Hampton.

"I can't think of a more logical event for me to support than one where manufacturers, designers, and distributors of accessories meet to streamline a niche market upon which I so heavily rely,” said Hampton. “I'm very excited because what woman, much less a designing woman, doesn't love her accessories."

The conference begins with a dinner presentation by the group's charity partner, Dwell with Dignity, on Tuesday, May 7 and over the following two days, the conference features eight more high energy speakers and workshop leaders ending with a dinner celebration on Thursday night, May 9.

Hampton will be speaking on "The Language of Interior Design” at 1:45 on Wednesday, May 8. Hampton’s work is often featured in shelter magazines and she has been honored with numerous awards, the most recent being Design Icon Award from World Market Center, Las Vegas. Hampton has design licenses with Kravet, Stark Carpets, Hickory Chair, Chesney's and Visual Comfort & Co.

Other speakers include:

Roy Spence of GSD & M and The Purpose Institute will present “Why Every Extraordinary Business is Driven by Purpose.”

Jason Dorsey of The Gen Y Guy will present “Connecting Generations to Build your Business.”

Michael Fisher of Fashion Snoops will present “2014 A Trend Odyssey.”
