The third-annual ADAC Design Day will unfold on Saturday, December 3, at the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse, in a space designed by a number of the South’s top designers. The programming, which will kick off with a 10 a.m. tour of the home, will include presentations on interior design, floral arranging and architecture.
“Once again, we are excited to partner with ADAC for an exciting day of programming,” says Elizabeth Ralls, editor in chief of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. “Each year, it’s an exciting collaboration, as it provides both Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and ADAC the opportunity to interact with the design-loving public in a beautiful and inspiring setting.” The showhouse itself will run through December 11, open Thursdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Enjoy an exclusive, guided tour of the 2016 Home for the Holidays Showhouse with honorary chairs Cheryl Womack and Alison Womack Jowers, and learn the ins and outs of transforming a house into a showhouse.
Daring Holiday Flair: Floral Demonstration With Canaan Marshall
11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Floral designer Canaan Marshall offers his tips and tricks for creating festive holiday floral arrangements and putting a fresh spin on seasonal decor. A Georgia native known for his ability to add striking beauty to any occasion, Marshall will teach guests how to repurpose fresh greenery, create holiday arrangements with any material and produce eye-catching designs at any budget.
Building and Brews With Architect Charles Heydt and Builder David Childers of Macallan Custom Homes
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Charles Heydt of Pak Heydt & Associates and David Childers of Macallan Custom Homes, the Home for the Holidays Showhouse’s architect and builder, share insights into architecture and design with showhouse guests over a selection of their favorite brews. Heydt and Childers, both avid craft beer lovers, will discuss renovating homes versus building new ones, offer inside details of the showhouse and answer attendees’ home design questions. The two will then lead a tour of the showhouse.
