On May 22, Rug & Kilim hosted an intimate evening for Texas-based designers visiting New York for ICFF and NYCxDesign. Among the attendees were designers from Dallas, Houston and Austin, as well as creatives from Brooklyn, Philadelphia, New Canaan, Connecticut, and Westfield, New Jersey. The team from Rug & Kilim—including hosts Josh Nazmiyal, Sina Nazmiyal and Cyrus Nazmiyal—welcomed guests to their Long Island City showroom with craft cocktails, elegant hors d’oeuvres and a fabulous dinner catered by Canard. The exceptional soiree mirrored Rug & Kilim’s passion for customer service.
Designers from Maestri Studio, Yates Desygn, Layered Dimensions Interior Design, Glenna Stone Interior Design, Bridges Brown Interiors, Austin Gray Design Group, Mimi & Hill Interiors, Prudence Home + Design, and Chupik Design, as well as editors from Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Modern Luxury and 1stDibs, were given an exclusive tour of the showroom, a true laboratory of creation. It houses not only a working studio for the growing Rug & Kilim team but also a display area for more than 6,000 vintage, antique and reproduction rugs. The made-to-order offerings are meticulously crafted on-site by the design team and woven on the world’s most exclusive looms by artisans hand-picked and nurtured over the course of Josh Nazmiyal’s many years in the business.
“We were delighted to welcome both new and old friends from Texas and beyond into our second home, creative space and showroom,” said Sina Nazmiyal. “It brings us great joy to share our passion for the art of rugs—one of humanity’s oldests crafts—and to express who we are as a family, a brand and purveyors of the world’s most beautiful rugs.”
As Rug & Kilim approaches its 45th anniversary next year, Josh, Cyrus and Sina Nazmiyal are excited to invite interior designers to discover the company’s collections, explore its expansive inventory, and work together to blend artistry and sophistication with livability, transforming clients’ homes into spaces of timeless elegance and style.
