To celebrate the release of her debut book, This Must Be the Place: Homes with Atmosphere (Abrams), designer Chloe Redmond Warner welcomed friends, collaborators, clients and members of the Bay Area design community to Redmond Aldrich Design’s Berkeley studio on May 5.

Approximately 75 guests gathered among her firm’s colorful interiors and RAD Goods textiles and wallpapers to toast the publication, which explores Warner’s philosophy of creating homes with atmosphere through art, architecture, decoration and personal storytelling.

Notable attendees included Kathy Scott of Walker Warner, Kate Woodrow of literary agency Present Perfect, Sheri McMullen of fashion boutique McMullen, John Ike and Tyler Velten of Ike Baker Velten, Scott and Abby Lewis of Scott Lewis Landscape Architecture, Andrew Mann of Andrew Mann Architecture, Yedda Morrison of Yedda Morrison Studio, Miranda Jones of Galanter & Jones, photographer Matthew Millman, and Katie Hintz-Zambrano of Mother magazine, among other designers, artists, architects and longtime friends of the firm.

The evening featured book signings, cocktails and conversation. Underscoring the tight-knit community behind This Must Be the Place, the gathering feted all those who helped shape both the book and nearly two decades of Redmond Aldrich Design’s distinctive and deeply personal body of work.

Reflecting on the event, Warner shared: “It was such a joy to spend an evening celebrating with so many collaborators—we had the full circle of life, from clients to contractors to photographers to my literary agent. So many people who brought the book to life were here, and I vibrated for days afterwards.”
