Elle Decor, The Shade Store and Martyn Lawrence Bullard co-hosted an intimate dinner party in celebration of Southern California design, at Bullard’s iconic 1960s Palm Springs home, designed by famed architect James McNaughton.
The Shade Store outfitted the home with floor-to-ceiling ripple fold drapery in the living room and a flat roman with a custom border shade in the powder room. Bullard styled the tabletops, which were overflowing with white orchids and palm leaves to match the decor.
Elle Decor editor in chief Whitney Robinson, The Shade Store chief marketing officer Michael Crotty, and Bullard and his partner Michael Green welcomed 30 guests, including Ken Fulk, Jamie Bush, Richard Shapiro, Mark D. Sikes, Estee Stanley, Kathryn Ireland and Mary McDonald.
Attendees enjoyed custom pink and green cocktails and Champagne, and dined on the patio under the desert stars before retiring indoors for dessert and to lounge around the sunken conversation fire pit.
“We believe in celebrating the design community,” said Crotty. “Interior designers are an important part of our business and it is our goal at The Shade Store to offer them a true window treatment partner with outstanding project management at every step. There is so much that we offer designers – 1,300+ in-stock materials, a designer-exclusive C.O.M. program for fabrics and trims, and some of the fastest lead times in the industry at 10 days or less for in-stock orders. And just as our West Hollywood team worked with Martyn on the drapery for his Palm Springs home living room, our nationwide team of measure & install professionals give designers all over the country access to our showrooms and products without having to fly their workroom staff from place to place.”
