On March 3, 2026, as part of Legends of Design Los Angeles, CW Stockwell and Sunbrella transformed the courtyard at Chief into a vibrant celebration of color, pattern and collaboration. The takeover marked the expansion of their JOY collection, inviting guests into an immersive cabana-inspired installation that showcased both new and existing patterns across furniture and decor.

Designed as a fully experiential moment, the courtyard installation brought to life the spirit of the JOY collection—layered textiles, bold prints and sun-soaked palettes creating a dynamic backdrop for connection and conversation. Throughout the multiday programming, hundreds of designers, industry professionals and design enthusiasts stopped by to explore the space and celebrate the partnership.

Highlights included Tuesday evening’s “Margs and Bites” gathering, which drew a lively crowd for cocktails and conversation, and Wednesday’s “Charm and Chill” charm bar, where guests customized CW Stockwell x Sunbrella travel pouches—adding a personal touch to an already joyful atmosphere.

Notable attendees included Orli Ben-Dor, Serena Dugan, Alex Mason, Noz Nozawa, Joanna Saltz, Carisha Swanson and many others from across the design community.

The activation not only celebrated the evolution of the JOY collection, but also reinforced CW Stockwell and Sunbrella’s shared commitment to craftsmanship, creativity and community—bringing the design world together in true L.A. style.
