Otter Creek Homes is a boutique luxury design-build firm serving the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine. We specialize in high-end renovations and custom homes, delivering a modern, detail-driven, full-service experience for discerning clients.
We are seeking an experienced Lead Designer to join our growing team. This is a senior role for a designer who is confident in their craft and fluent in technical drawings.
This is not an entry-level position and not a role for someone looking to learn design fundamentals. We are looking for a proven professional with real-world experience who can execute our design process.
Position Overview
The Lead Designer will work closely with the Creative Director, Director of Operations and Pre-Construction Coordinator throughout the design process, owning the drawing set throughout the process. This role requires a strong balance of design aesthetic, technical expertise, and clear communication.
Responsibilities
Lead residential design projects from concept through construction documentation
Produce detailed technical interior floor plans, elevations, and renderings using Chief Architect or equivalent software
Present design concepts, drawings, and decisions to clients
Collaborate directly with the Creative Director and Director of Operations on design direction and execution
Work closely with our in-house construction team to ensure design intent is executed to the OCH standards
Uphold Otter Creek Homes’ design standards, brand aesthetic, and level of detail across all projects
Manage project photoshoots for the company portfolio including on-site styling and vendor coordination
4+ years working at a residential design firm, mandatory
Advanced proficiency in Chief Architect or equivalent software with the ability to produce construction drawings and renderings
Deep understanding of residential construction, detailing, and spatial planning
Comfortable working with numbers, dimensions, and measurements
Confident leading meetings and presenting to clients and internal teams
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work full-time, in person, at our North Hampton, NH office

Entry-level designers
Recent graduates seeking training or mentorship
Candidates without professional, real-world design firm experience
Designers uncomfortable with technical drawings, measurements, or client presentations
No experience need not apply.
