Job Description

Charlap Hyman & Herrero (CHH) is seeking a Junior Interior Designer to join our New York office. This is a dynamic, hands-on role supporting the development and execution of high-level interior design projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong design sensibility, organizational skills, and the ability to contribute across all phases of the design process. With a balance of creative, technical, and administrative responsibilities, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the continued growth of our AD100-recognized firm.

Junior Interior Designer
5 years full time work experience in the relevant industry.
3+ years working as Junior Interior Designer

Job Requirements

Required Skills:
- Lead several projects or project phases from concept through installation, with guidance from Design Director and Principal
- Develop and present design concepts, reference images, mood boards, and material palettes
- Create and manage furniture plans, elevations, and details using AutoCAD
- Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare and lead client presentations
- Conduct site visits, field measurements, and oversee installations
- Provide mentorship to interns or junior team members, if applicable
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Studio Designer, Harvest, Wrike or project management software
- Strong visual communication skills demonstrated through hand drafting, sketching, or 3D modeling
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, Sketchup
- Assist with procurement, scheduling, and tracking of FF&E
