DIGNIFY BY DESIGN SUMMIT, SANTA FE, JULY 9+10
The fourth biennial Design Summit will take place in Santa Fe, on July 9-10, 2025. As has been our tradition we will gather leaders in design, architecture, manufacturing, and retail to discuss topics relating to trends in design, creativity, working with cultural material and creating community. The theme of this year's Summit is Dignity, and the title of the Summit is DIGNIFY BY DESIGN. We believe that design has an important role to play in dignifying the lives and spaces that it touches and is also an essential and unifying concept on which to focus our collective creative energy.
This summit is a call for engagement and action. Together we will discuss some of the structural challenges facing our world today, examine how design can build community, accelerate the acceptance of new ideas and inspire positive change and beauty.
The event is hosted by Museum of New Mexico Foundation and Human Dignity Projects, a registered 501(c)3, is an organization dedicated to promoting human dignity and living a dignified existence. The voice of the organization is a magazine called dig.ni.fy: a twice-yearly digital magazine that promotes human dignity through stories, profiles and news about people, organizations and businesses moving cultural and artistic traditions forward, creating community and ensuring that dignity is at the core of their work.
In addition to stimulating presentations and ample time for networking, attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Museum of International Folk Art and Museum of Indian Arts & Culture and enjoy a curated view of the world class ethnographic textile, pottery and basketry collections at each museum; engage in hands-on projects; and have the opportunity to attend two additional inspiring and highly original events: The 12th SITE SANTA FE Biennale will be curated by Cecilia Alemani (curator of the Venice Biennale 2022). The 21st International Folk Art Market (IFAM), July 11-13 is an open-air market and festival of culture featuring over 150 artists from 60 countries who gather together to sell handmade goods, share their music traditions and enjoy the companionship of fellow artisans.
