After a three-year hiatus, the Black Interior Designers Network welcomed the return of the Top 10 African American Interior Designers list in a highly anticipated two-day celebration in New York, including an awards ceremony at the New York Design Center. The honored designers were carefully selected by a panel of editorial judges from Architectural Digest, Business of Home, Elle Decor, House Beautiful and Sandow for their design work as well as their involvement in the community to uplift fellow Black interior designers.
The festivities concluded with an intimate dinner for honorees and media judges, co-hosted by Keia McSwain, president of the BIDN, and Zach and Ian Gibbs, co-founders of The Shade Store, a longtime supporter and industry partner to the BIDN. Guests gathered at Marta around two long tables dressed in custom fabrics from The Shade Store’s collections, where they toasted to the award winners and their continued success.
“We were thrilled to join the BIDN in celebrating and recognizing this incredibly talented group of designers,” said Zach Gibbs. “We are proud of our longstanding commitment to the BIDN and look forward to partnering with Keia and her team as the organization continues to grow.”
“Our continued partnership with The Shade Store is dear to us,” said McSwain. “The Shade Store is one of our legacy partners and we take great joy in witnessing their continued growth and success.”
