At April’s High Point Market, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA | KBIS), together with Cosentino Group, presented “The Spring Edit,” a multiday destination at Broad Hall that brought together designers, editors and brands for a lineup of panels, lunches and immersive programming centered on the future of kitchen and bath design.
The NKBA Design Hub terrace was transformed into a garden party–inspired setting, while the adjacent showroom featured curated vignettes alongside displays. Building on the successful debut of the hub the previous fall, The Spring Edit expanded its footprint and continued its focus on the materials, technologies and ideas shaping the next generation of kitchens and bathrooms. In addition to Cosentino, participating brands included Azenco, Blanco, BlueStar, Fabuwood, Feeney, Ferguson Home, FreePower, Kichler, Lutron, James Martin Vanities, Miele, Sherwin-Williams, Signature Hardware and Urban Bonfire.
NKBA welcomed hundreds of visitors to experience the immersive event, with a strong turnout from across the design community. Celebrated designers Arianne Bellizaire, Alena Capra, Kelly Collier-Clark, Matt French, Ashley Gilbreath, Daniel Keeley, Jerel Lake, Stephanie Larsen, Nikki Levy, Lisa Mende, Kim Scodro, Megan Siason, Mikel Welch and Anita Yokota were joined by media notables Andrea Lillo of Designers Today, Kate Kelly Smith of Sandow Design Group, Mel Studach of ADPro, Carisha Swanson of House Beautiful and Chandler Pibl of Modern Luxury. Throughout the week, programming featured compelling conversations with these leading industry voices. Business of Home editor in chief Kaitlin Petersen moderated the panel “Designing Light: Layering, Materials and the Architecture of Illumination,” which examined how lighting strategies can transform interiors, elevate natural materials and create more experiential environments.
“It was inspiring to learn how designers like Kim Scodro and Jerel Lake—and brands like Kichler and Lutron—are taking nuanced approaches to lighting that transform today’s kitchen spaces,” said Petersen. “Equally exciting was the response from the exceptionally engaged audience: designers of all ages and experience levels, receptive to deeper conversations about this important category of the home.”
Other sessions explored a range of relevant themes. “Invisible Luxury: How Hidden Technology and Premium Materials Are Redefining the Bath” was presented by Cosentino, James Martin Vanities and FreePower. Further talks covered open-air living, the power of color and materiality, designing for wellness, and kitchens as personal statements. On Saturday, April 25, guests gathered for The Spring Edit reception, toasting the launch of NKBA’s sophomore showcase.
“Kitchen and bath have become central to how designers think about the style and functionality of the entire home,” said Bill Darcy, global president and CEO of NKBA | KBIS. “High Point Market offers an incredible opportunity to bring the design community together around these conversations, and we’re thrilled to continue the momentum sparked by our fall debut.”
“Broad Hall has quickly become a must-visit destination for designers looking for inspiration and ideas on how to expand and elevate their business through kitchen and bath design,” said Patty Dominguez, vice president of business development for Cosentino Americas. “We’re proud to partner with NKBA to create a space where designers can engage directly with brands and explore what’s next for the home.”
