Highland House marked a milestone moment at this season’s High Point Market, hosting an intimate dinner to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of its collaboration with interior designer Barrie Benson. Held at the Proximity Hotel in Greensboro, North Carolina, the evening brought together around 50 guests for a gathering that felt as considered and personal as the collection it honored.
Over the past decade, Benson’s furniture line for Highland House has become a defining expression of her design philosophy, balancing refinement with an ease that makes each piece feel distinctly livable. The anniversary collection reflects that same ethos, evolving with the Charlotte-based designer’s perspective while remaining grounded in the craftsmanship that has long defined the brand.
The guest list included a notable mix of industry voices and design leaders, among them Peter Dunham, Suzanne Kasler, Mary McDonald, Thomas O’Brien, Chloe Redmond Warner, Benjamin Reynaert and Business of Home’s Dennis Scully, adding to the sense of occasion and shared respect for the partnership being feted.
“Celebrating this special milestone surrounded by so many people I love and admire made the evening feel like much more than a dinner,” said Benson. “It was a reminder of why this community and this work matter so much. I am so grateful to my partners at Highland House, my incredible team at Barrie Benson Studio, and all the amazing people who helped bring the collection together. For 10 years, the intention has been the same: furniture that lives beautifully in our clients’ homes and is meant to be made your own by any designer or retailer who finds it.”
“We are delighted to celebrate 10 years of partnership with Barrie Benson and her talented team,” added Nathan Copeland, president at Highland House. “Barrie’s design aesthetic is joyful, authentic and effortlessly sophisticated. The new collection is inspired by 1930s and ’40s European design, reimagined through a modern lens, and speaks beautifully to the craftsmanship, character and timeless style that have defined our collaboration from the start.”
Warm, festive and deeply rooted in community, the evening served as both a meditation on a decade of collaboration and a toast to what’s ahead, underscoring a partnership that continues to evolve while staying true to its original mission.
