The Decorative Furnishings Association is holding its year-end assembly on November 10. The general meeting will take place from 2 to 6 p.m., followed by a holiday party held at Upper Story by Charlie Palmer in the D&D Building.

Of the industry’s current “transformational” period, DFA executive director Steve Nobel shares: “It’s what many of us have been waiting for for years, and now industry is going to lead the way toward repositioning in the hearts and minds of resourceful consumers the value of interior design and fine home furnishings.”

A number of marketing experts will be on hand, including Debbie Millman from Sterling Brands, who will present the keynote. New DFA board member Chad Stark, senior vice president of STARK, will present on the role of digital media. Also in attendance will be interior designers, 10 design center representatives from throughout the country, and staff from publications including Architectural Digest, Cottages & Gardens, Departures, Traditional Home and Hearst Design Group

Dan Cahoon, president of DFA and Jerry Pair & Associates, said, “Members and those who are interested in membership are invited to listen to a review of these options during our year-end meeting, and are encouraged to participate in an open discussion forum. Every business owner and design principal who relies on the interior design industry for revenue should attend this meeting.”
