Over 6,500 designers and industry insiders visited the New York Design Center last week for the seventh annual What’s New, What’s Next event. The event spotlighted 70-plus showrooms, as well as panels and product launches. Some of the day’s highlights: Veranda editor in chief Clinton Smith and designer Charlotte Moss discussed floral influences on interiors; Dakota Jackson, Julia Buckingham and Thom Filicia all premiered new collections; Michael Boodro and Mieke ten Have of Elle Decor discussed fashion and home design with author-historian Amy Fine Collins of Vanity Fair; and designer Brad Ford invited guests into his just-opened NYDC showroom.

Notable panels included the standing-room-only discussion “I HEART L.A.,” with designers Oliver M. Furth, Kristen McGinnis, Robert Stilin and moderator Wendy Goodman of New York magazine. (The panel was a prequel to “I HEART N.Y.,” which will take place at La Cienega Design Quarter’s Legends event in spring 2016.)
