What not to miss at Las Vegas Winter Market

As the bi-annual Las Vegas Winter Market continues to grow and introduce new offerings, attendees can expect this show to deliver. From new product introductions, events and emerging trends, designers and retailers will have plenty to see and do at World Market Center, Jan. 28 – Feb. 1.

Previous Las Vegas Market

New showrooms are located on the first two floors of Building A. They include Christopher Guy, Stanley Furniture, Julian Chichester/Mr. Brown and Norwalk Furniture. Gift+Home features a new collection of high-end home décor suppliers on C3 and a completely updated categorization of temporary exhibits into 10 product sections.

Ireland

The market kicks off on Sunday, Jan. 27 with the 2013 WOW Awards dinner presented by Withit. Five great women of design will be honored, including Kathy Ireland, Kathy Ireland Worldwide; Education Award: Cheminne Taylor-Smith, High Point Market Authority; Leadership Award: Kim Knopf, Innovative Mattress Solutions LLC; Future Leadership Award: Kiersten Hathcock, Mod Mom Furniture; and Mentoring Award: Wright Global Graphic Solutions.

Five days of retailer-oriented seminars and special programs will be among the highlights of this winter’s market. Educational seminars will address trends, design, social media and business-building marketing strategies, as well as a special presentation from the CEO of Yankee Candle on Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Hampton

Interior designer Alexa Hampton will be honored as the 2013 Design Icon during winter market. Hampton, known around the globe for her classic, traditional and electric work, is a first time recipient of this prestigious award, which celebrates modern day design legends and their significant contributions to the industry.

Nourison and lifestyle designer Barclay Butera will co-host a book signing and cocktail party during the Las Vegas Market to support victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The event is scheduled for Monday, Jan.28 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Nourison's showroom, located in space C112. Stay tuned for EditorTV coverage of this event.

Also on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Barry Dixon will be in the Arteriors Showroom to introduce his new collection. The following day join interior designer and Mottega color consultant Eileen Kathryn Boyd for a presentation in the showroom from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Filicia

Thom Filicia will be at the Safavieh Showroom for a lunch and special book signing of his latest book, American Beauty. The event will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29 with a lunch at 12:00 p.m. and the book signing at 12:30 p.m., Building A, Space 101.

Other headlining seminars include the popular First Look program which is an entertaining, fast-paced look at the hottest new product introductions debuting at Market week, winning visual merchandising and store displays for gift and home retailers, successful ingredients to creating a customer-centric culture, business-building sessions to attract and retain customers, current social media best practices, a trend forecast for the interiors industry, an inspiring presentation from the global authority on color, Pantone, and much more.
