U.S. Pavillion finalizes participants, projects for Venice Biennale

The 13th Biennale International Architecture Exhibition opens in Venice August 29. London-based architect David Chipperfield is directing the theme of Common Ground.

The U.S. Pavillion, organized by the Institute for Urban Design, has a confirmed list of 124 Spontaneous Inventions: Design Actions for the Common Good. The projects feature collaborative work from architects, designers, planners, artists and citizens in cities across the U.S. On view will be pop-up markets, temporary architecture, guerilla bike lines, sharing networks and more.

The Venice Biennale runs through November 25. The U.S. Pavillion is sponsored by the Westin Europe & Regina.
